If you’ve ever seen anyone climb a mountain, or even a rock wall at an amusement park, you’ll notice one thing: 

There is no straight way to the top. 

There’s only a calculated series of steps and maneuvers, backwards and sideways, trial and error, until you find the way up. 

So too, in life. That is the way to the top. 

Sometimes, you have to be a little uncertain when you make a move that’s better in the long run. Sometimes, you have to try one thing to realize it doesn’t work and then try something different. 

You might have to go totally backwards to change directions and get to the quickest route. 

Basically, if you are trying to find your footing in your career, don’t get discouraged. Don’t think that everyone else is ahead of you.

Realize that IS the way UP.
